Naming our snails

we needed to count the total amount of snails we needed:

• 6 for the map
• 12 for the guest
• 12 for the parents
• 4 for XPUB0
• ???

we then named 65 snails!!! to be sure to have enough

Snail Protocol: To XPUB0

We created a comprehensive map of ALL XPUB as it will probably be in September 2026, in order to enact an alternate version of the mighty Infrastructour.

Delivery protocol

It is impossible to know exactly how many XPUB students will be in the 2026-2028 class. How can we split up the picture and how many snails are going to deliver it? To whom?

Option 1

We don’t care about XPUB 0 student number and we just split the pic in as many parts as the number of XPUB1 (soon to be XPUB2 (hopefully)) students.

Option 2

We split the picture in four parts.

• One part goes to Micheal, it will be sent via email to the students.
• Another part goes to Manetta, and she will give it to them as they have the first class with her.
• The third part will be hidden in a wiki page that they will for sure visit in one of their first days.
• One XPUB2 student will have the last part, and they will have to guess who has it.

Version 1: Giving out the tiles phisicallly

Version 2: Givign the tiles out digitally

Each person gets a tile with a snail on it that represents a hidden QR code in the part of the citiy that is represented by the tile. Each QR is hidden on a spot that is spiral/snail shaped. When a QR is found and scanned the map is completed and the snailtrail is revealed.

Snail PRotocol: Change Tables

• Delivery Protocol: We collected patterns from six randomly selected tables at WdKA and merged them into a single drawing. The drawing was then divided into six parts, each linked to a QR code placed back on the original tables. By scanning the codes, people can see the complete painting and trace the patterns back to the tables they came from.

We placed the QR code on the table！！

Snail Protocol: Guests

• Doriane, Chae, Kamo
• We made the drawing with Chae, Kamo and Doriane, by doing the usual "camera obscura" method of retracing from our smarphone and laptop computers, from our memory, wiki pages.
• 12 pieces will be delivered with multiple methods (majorities by hand-to-hand) to these guests: Kaa, Marloes & Anti, Marie, Julie, Simon, DIWO working group (chae&kamo), Manetta, Michael and Doriane, and Sammy.

Snail Protocol: What do you do at XPUB?
