A spontaneous get-together of classmates. We were too caught up with all the work being done for the Special Issue so we had to come up late with a solution for this broadcast. We were obviously to exhausted to formulate heavy topics and discussion, so we proposed to do a easy morning session. We wanted to have fun and so we did. The starting point for gathering music is to look for ambient and 'Plunderphonics' tunes. Luca and Daan had a conversation about the beauty of 'Plunderphonics'. 'Plunderphonics' is a term coined by John Oswald, in the essay <cite>[https://www.plunderphonics.com/xhtml/xplunder.html ''Plunderphonics, or Audio Piracy as a Compositional Prerogative'']</cite>. A long line of plundered music resulted in the 2001 release <cite>[https://musicbrainz.org/release/721380eb-b723-4b74-b067-070018bdf5c2 ''plunderphonics 69/96 by Plunderphonics (John Oswald)''] </cite> which compiles 60 tracks of sampled popmusic layered with news speeches and whatnot. During the show we played a lot of music and samples. Valentin found out a way to connect his songs collected in Tractor to also play on the Pioneer DJ-set, of which Daan thought it only supported files exported in Record box. | |||
