Description
✼ What is it? ✼
A CSS-based (+HTML+JS) visual artifact generator that acts as digital divination tool. Using CSS shapes and colors which correspond to a preset symbology, the visual artifacts generated-at-random can be interpreted to have certain meanings.
✼ Why make it? ✼
This idea is based in my interest in divination practices using aleatory tools and methods.
✼ Workflow ✼
- Write code to generate CSS artifact by click/interaction
- Assign symbology to shapes and colors
- Present the generator on a webpage
✼ Timetable ✼
<max. 2 Weeks
✼ Previous practice ✼
This PMOMM is based on a previous personal project, the CSS-Ornamenta -> Code that generates ornamental shapes using CSS properties which get randomly assigned to nested div-s through JavaScript.
✼ Relation to a wider context ✼
This project fits into the larger context of my research into the intersection of esotericism, contextual symbology and (modern) technology.
✼ Personal Reader ✼
